Murhad Hussain

SpinLab was founded by international table tennis player and IOC Young Leader Murhad Hussain.

Murhad has spent his life around the game - playing internationally, coaching and experiencing first-hand what opportunities can grow from something as simple as access to a sport.

Now he's bringing those experiences to Aberdeen by creating the kind of table tennis space he believes the sport deserves.

A place to play. A place to progress. And a place where the next opportunity might be much bigger than the table.

The Table Tennis project CIC

Table tennis can change more than a scoreboard.

The Table Tennis Project CIC is SpinLab's social-impact project, using the game to help tackle child poverty, food insecurity and inequality in Aberdeen.

Inspired by Ping Pong Alkmaar in the Netherlands and supported by IOC Young Leaders, we create welcoming, accessible opportunities for young people to play, eat, learn and belong — regardless of their background or circumstances.

Open Club Membership

Open club is where the SpinLab community lives. Turn up, find a table, and play — no need to book a slot each time. Whether you’re a regular looking for consistent match practice or someone who just wants somewhere to play without committing to a coached session, membership is the simplest and best-value way in.

Members get access during all advertised open club hours. Bats and balls are available if you need them, so you can come as you are.

Corporate Events, Parties & School Sessions

Table tennis is one of the easiest ways to get a room of people talking. There’s no skill barrier, nobody feels left out, and it works for any age or fitness level — which makes SpinLab a genuinely useful space for events rather than just a sports venue.

We can host:
